ATLANTA – (September 8, 2023) – The ATL Airport District, the destination marketing organization for the cities of College Park, Hapeville and Union City, Georgia, today announced that five of its local restaurants will appear in an upcoming Atlanta Eats episode airing Saturday, September 9. The Emmy Award-winning program will showcase the destination's diverse culinary community in an hour-long spotlight on Peachtree TV (WPCH-TV) at 5:30 p.m. and on Atlanta News First (WANF-TV) at 11:30 p.m., and re-airing on Peachtree TV at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 17.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase our flourishing restaurant community and the stories of some of the District’s most unique dining venues on Atlanta’s favorite food-focused TV show," said Cookie Smoak, president of the ATL Airport District. "We invite all foodies to tune in for an informative taste of the Southside, celebrating some truly hidden gems that are finally getting the moment in the spotlight that they deserve!”
The Atlanta Eats episode featuring the District will focus on the area’s vibrant food scene, filled with artfully inspired dishes and beverages, Black and minority-owned restaurants, innovative dining atmospheres and more. Featured restaurants include Manchester Arms Pub, Aye Tea Elle, JPresso, Restaurant 356 and The Real Milk & Honey.
Atlanta Eats is the city's multi-media platform delivering engaging, entertaining and informative content to help food lovers discover the city's dining scene. The program was founded in 2012 by Steak Shapiro, one of the city's most visible media personalities and well-known food guy. Shapiro serves as the show's host and is also a frequent contributor to the Food Network. Atlanta Eats supports the local restaurant industry by educating both locals and tourists about the value of Atlanta as a food destination through television, digital and social media. The television show has won five Emmy Awards and broadcasts 60-minute segments on Peachtree TV every Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. as well as back-to-back 30-minute "Daily Special" segments airing at 9 a.m. on weekdays.
