The days are getting longer, the pollen count is off the charts, and the calendar is filling up with outdoor events and festivals. That can only mean one thing: spring has officially arrived in the ATL Airport District! This season, we're rolling out a lineup of events that promise a little something for everyone - from leisurely wine strolls to adrenaline-pumping cycling races to al fresco live music. Check out the highlights below and start marking your calendar with all the fun things to do in the District!

College Park Wine Stroll & Live Music on the Lawn

Thursday, March 14th | 4 - 8 pm | Historic College Park

Mingling with local business owners and neighbors is the perfect way to celebrate the winter thaw. Sip your way through College Park's Main Street from 4 - 6:30 pm during the annual Wine Stroll, then settle down in your lawn chair on the Auditorium Lawn for a free live performance by the talented John Beal from 6:30 - 8 pm. Be sure to purchase the commemorative wine glass to participate in the Wine Stroll.

Every Saturday | 4 - 7 pm | Arches Brewing

The Southside's one and only craft brewery, Arches Brewing, turns Saturday evenings into a celebration of live music and great beer. With a different band each week and a rotating selection of food trucks, it's the perfect way to relax and enjoy an evening in the District. While the current location is slated to close on May 18th of this year, the good folks at Arches are actively looking for a new home on the Southside. Let's show them lots of love as they close out this chapter, shall we? Check out the Arches event calendar for up-to-date performer and food truck info.

Hapeville Butterfly Lantern Parade

This enchanting event is returning for its second year in downtown Hapeville. Everyone is invited to create a butterfly lantern and join in a parade led by the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons and Seed & Feed Marching Abominables. March, dance, skip, and/or flutter your way down the mile-long parade route, stepping off at 8:10 pm, to usher in spring, and then enjoy the food vendors, a pop-up artist market, and other festivities throughout the evening. Don't miss this magical community celebration of light and creativity! 

 

Women's History & Empowerment Month Movie Night

Friday, March 29 | Sundown | College Park Auditorium Lawn

Celebrate Women's History Month with a free screening of The Little Mermaid (2023) on the College Park Auditorium Lawn. This family-friendly activity offers a magical evening under the stars, beginning at sundown, around 8 pm. If weather deters the Friday showing, the movie will be shown the following day, Saturday, March 30th.

Saturday, April 16 & May 11 | 8:30 - noon | Jess Lucas Park

April marks the start of the 2024 Coffee & Chrome season! This free car & motorcycle show takes place in Jess Lucas Park every second Saturday of the month from April through September. Bring the whole family for a morning of chrome, coffee, and community!

Spin the District

April 30 - May 5 | Various Locations

Get ready for the return of the ATL Airport District's signature event, Spin the District! Join us for criterium races in all three District cities, complemented by free street parties featuring food trucks, beer vendors, music, artist markets, and fun for the whole family. We'll be disco dancing in Union City on Tuesday, April 30 from 4 - 10 pm, then hanging out in Hapeville on Friday, May 3rd from 4 - 10 pm, and closing out USA Crits Speed Week with the race for the crown in College Park on Sunday, May 5 from noon - 6 pm. We hope to see you there!
